Based on the principle of the necessity of cooperation between the public and private sectors for the advancement and progress, our company held the first intellectual seminar of its kind in Iraq on July 6th, at the invitation of the Ninawa Provincial Council and the Chamber Industry in the province with some government security officials for effective intellectual participation between the private and public sectors in planning and reconstruction of the province.
The seminar focused on the mechanisms of designing and implementing the general policies of the province for the purpose of building and preserving the gains of the period of re-stability. It has included presentations, and discussions on the main subjects which will contribute to the investment of human and material resources for the advancement of the governorate as follows:
1) Building the capacity at the range of development of administrative leaders in the province for the purpose of design and implementation of public policies for the province and coordination of administrative relations between them and the central government with the organization of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation procedures in order to maintain the gains of the stage of restoring the stability of the province and investing its human resources in the construction.
2) At the field of Security … Based on discussions with staff concerned at the province, at the period of preparation, . We have been diagnosis strengths and weaknesses points, and then need. For this purposes, we have been invited Erinys Iraq Limited – Branch of Iraq which is specialized with Risk management and has the potential to build security capabilities on the ground which is help in designing and performing security policies. It has been shown in its presentation its experience in Iraq for more 12 years.
3) Based on the keenness of province to maintain security by development and organization of security information systems. It has been invited SIRIO SISTEMI ELETTRONICI S.P.A. . It is specialized in the construction of electronic control systems. It has been explaining by its presentation its experience in Iraq since 2010. 4) As well as above mentioned, Tahseen Al Adaa’ for Consultancy offered an important introduction about electronic control systems and its role in feeding of information to the security services which is help in diagnosis the risks.
5) Based on previous deliberations with the President of Nineveh Industry Chamber, our company has offered to help in the design of industrial cities through designing industrial policies which contributes to maintaining the financial position of the province thus giving the possibility of progress and construction.
5) Tourism Investment … Our Company offered its opinion in the field of tourism investment where it embodied for the attendants the important role that can be played by the province in the enhancement of its potential at this field with what can be supportive of tourism investment in Iraq. We discussed also current local imbalance in the tourism presentation style which failed to attract the foreign investor with a presentation of how to possibly correct it .
The events of this meeting were covered by number of local newspapers such as the Iraqia, Mosulia, and others. The newscasts for the next day included coverage of dialogues and meetings that played an important role in the seminar.
This type of meeting will remain unique at the local level and requires boldness in deciding to participate. It also requires available boldness at the public sector to actively invite the private sector to achieve successful partnerships of this kind on the ground to ensure transparency, disclosure, and accountability.
